if you knew tomorrow was
your last day on this earth
what would 20 minutes more
of precious life be worth?
given that, what would you do
with seconds ticking by?
watch the tube? binge and swill?
medicate, or cry?
write a memoir (short and sweet)?
make peace with the irate?
add a codicil or two
to tidy your estate?
on your knees, without surcease
would you begin to pray
to ask God for the mercy
you withheld before today?
would you shop for clothing
when it matters not a whit?
do you need more life goods
when you know you're leaving it?
no. you would call your family.
so, what's stopping you today?
connect with those who love you
and enjoy them while you may.
